A Message from Principal Mercurio:
Cedar Hill Cubs are… Responsible, Respectful, and Ready!
At Cedar Hill Elementary School our mission is to provide a productive environment for learning that recognizes all students have unique talents and abilities and to prepare students to become creative thinkers, problem solvers, and effective communicators.
Our School-Wide Behavior Plan
At Cedar Hill Elementary School every student and every staff member has a right to be in a school where he/she feels safe, respected, and protected. To ensure this, we have developed school rules that foster an environment of kindness and mutual respect that is absolutely essential to learning.
At Cedar Hill Elementary School all students are expected to be Responsible, Respectful, and Ready.
Cedar Hill Elementary School’s goals are to continue to provide opportunities to improve student performance in:
- Math: by “providing real world multi-step math problems to increase fluency, application, and deep understanding of math Common Core State Standards (CCSS)”.
- Reading: by “providing opportunities for close reading of literary and informational text of sufficient complexity to increase comprehension of text and to deepen understanding of the reading Common Core State Standards (CCSS)”.
- Digital Learning Skills: by “providing a variety of professional development opportunities to faculty in the areas of devices, applications, and blended learning strategies to leverage student engagement in technology applied learning experiences”.
Our Parent Teacher Organization
At Cedar Hill Elementary School, we recognize the importance of parents/guardians and their important role as educators. The Cedar Hill Elementary Parent Teacher Organization supplements the academic, cultural, and social components of our school to help provide an outstanding education for all of the students. The PTO coordinates after-school enrichment programs, sponsors cultural arts events during the school day, and provides wonderful family events in the evenings and on the weekends. The Cedar Hill Elementary PTO sustains the concept of a “neighborhood school” that educational research has recognized as a vital component to helping all students succeed in school.
